Who operates this shop
Art By R.Carnie is operated by Mindcave Creations LLC. Questions about an order or these terms can be sent to rcarnie@carnielittlefield.com or mailed to Mindcave Creations LLC, 3150 Middleton Dr, Rockvale, TN 37153.
This art shop is also a featured Mindcave Creations LLC project: it demonstrates MindCart by MC software and its shop features for prospective clients. That demonstration relationship does not change who sells the artwork or the customer terms stated here.
What is offered
The shop may offer original artwork, editions, prints, small objects, and separately agreed custom work. A product page describes the item and its availability. Original pieces can vary in texture and appearance; screen colors can differ from the physical work. The artist retains copyright and reproduction rights unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. Buying an object does not transfer those rights.
Orders and payment
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars. The checkout displays applicable tax, shipping, and the order total before payment. Payment is processed by Square. Placing an order is an offer to buy; the studio may decline or cancel an order if an item is unavailable, a listing contains a material error, or payment cannot be completed. If a paid order is canceled, the studio will issue the applicable refund through the original payment method. No order is final until the studio confirms it.
Fulfillment and related policies
Shipping and local pickup options, timing, and charges are governed by the Shipping Terms on this page. Returns, damage reports, and refunds are governed by the Returns & Refunds section. A custom commission requires a separate written scope and follows the Commission Agreement. These policies are part of these terms.

Changes and contact
The version and publication date displayed on this page identify the terms in effect for new orders. An order remains subject to the terms shown when it was accepted unless the parties agree otherwise or law requires a change. Contact rcarnie@carnielittlefield.com with questions.

Destinations and pickup
The shop plans to ship within the United States and offer local pickup at MURFREESBORO, TN - PUBLIC LOCATION. Available methods and the flat shipping charge for an eligible order appear at checkout before payment. Shipping outside the CONTIGUOUS USA (the "Lower 48") is not offered unless the studio agrees in writing.
• HAWAII & ALASKA
I do not ship to either location due to shipping costs.
Processing and delivery
In-stock orders are normally prepared for shipment within ONE WEEK after payment clears. Custom work, made-to-order prints, framing, and unusually large or fragile pieces may have a separately disclosed schedule. A delivery estimate is an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival date. The studio will provide carrier and tracking details when available.
• CARRIERS: UPS or FEDEX
• INSURANCE: On Request, Client pays insurance fees
• SIGNATURE: Required for all orders of original work, collector's editions, custom commissions, and orders over $50 of printed work such as notebooks or stickers.
• PACKAGING: Brown cardboard boxes with bubble wrap, Shipper's discretion.
Delays and unavailable work
The studio will only promise a shipment date it has a reasonable basis to meet. If it cannot ship within the stated time, or within the time required when no date was stated, it will notify the buyer and offer the choices required by applicable law, including consent to a revised date or cancellation and a prompt refund. It may cancel and refund an order that cannot be fulfilled.
Address, delivery, and damage
Please provide a complete delivery address and review it before checkout. Contact rcarnie@carnielittlefield.com promptly if a shipment is lost, delayed, or arrives damaged; keep the packaging and photograph the damage so the studio can help with a carrier claim.
• DAMAGE REPORT DEADLINE: Upon receipt of order - The day of receipt
• SIGNATURE: This is exactly why I require signature on delivery for large orders. Once signed for, I cannot guarantee or ensure any shipping claims will be honored by the shipping company.

Returns & Refunds
Version 1 · Published
Contact first
If an artwork or print arrives damaged, is materially different from its listing, or the wrong item arrives, contact rcarnie@carnielittlefield.com with the order number, photographs, and a description within THE DAY OF DELIVERY. Keep the original packaging until the studio has reviewed the issue. The studio will explain the available remedy, which may include repair, replacement where possible, return, or refund as required by law. REFUSE DELIVERY AND NOTE DAMAGED ORDER.
Change-of-mind returns
This is not an option. Ordering is your agreement that you've made your decision. I am a single local Artist, not a factory and cannot undo print jobs or afford to waste ink and print materials once an order has been placed.
Cancellations and shipping delays
Contact the studio as soon as possible if you want to cancel an orderl. An unshipped order may be canceled where required by law or under the studio's stated policy. If the studio cannot meet a promised shipment time, it will offer the delay, cancellation, and refund choices required by applicable law. Commission deposits and cancellations are addressed separately in the Commission Agreement.
Commission Agreement
There is no cancellation of a commission once a deposit has been secured. If you choose to cancel a commission, the deposit will not be returned and you will be billed the full cost of the commissioned work even if the work has not been completed. This is due to booking studio time, committing the materials to the project, and being hired to do a project from one professional to another. I will do everything reasonable to ensure you are fully happy with your commissioned work to prevent this situation from ever becoming a problem. My commissioned projects include:
• Sketches and drafts to confirm the idea matches the visual expectation
• Frequent check-ins with you in your Client Portal with image and visual updates on your commission progress
• Access to discuss concerns via email, client portal, or call
Refund method and timing
When a refund is approved, the studio initiates it through Square to the original payment method and confirms the action to the customer. The time until funds appear depends on the payment provider and bank. This policy does not limit any rights that cannot be waived under applicable law. Contact rcarnie@carnielittlefield.com for help with an order.
Commission Agreement
Version 1 · Published
Starting a commission
A custom request is an inquiry, not an accepted order. The artist will discuss the subject, size, medium, timeline, price, delivery method, and any reference material before issuing a written proposal. Work begins only after both parties accept the proposal and a 50% DEPOSIT HAS BEEN SECURED.
Creative process
The proposal will state the agreed scope, milestones, and DRAFTS AND REVISIONS - At least one draft and revision scope after first sketches and digital comps are shared with the client. The artist retains creative judgment within that scope. Material changes to size, medium, subject, or schedule may require a new quote and written approval. The buyer must have permission to provide any reference images or other material submitted for the work.
Payment and delivery
The proposal will state the total price, taxes if applicable, payment schedule, estimated completion date, and shipping or pickup arrangement. Final payment of SECOND HALF / 50% is due before the finished work is released. Dates may move if the buyer delays approvals or materials; the artist will communicate material changes WITHIN THE CLIENT PORTAL - These updates will be emailed and timestamped within the Client Portal for full accountability of the artist.
Cancellations and refunds
In the event that the artist cannot complete the work, the parties will resolve payments under the written proposal and applicable law. If I cannot finish the commission within a reasonable scope of time agreed between parties; I will refund the commissioned project and return the deposit. This is reserved for extreme situations such as being hospitalized or dead.
Copyright and display
Unless a separate written license says otherwise, the artist keeps copyright and reproduction rights in the commissioned work. The buyer receives the physical work and any license expressly described in the proposal.
• SOCIAL MEDIA USE: The artist retains the right to use this work in their portfolio on this website and across social media. Art By R.Carnie encourages the buyer to share and showcase the work too!
Questions
